Subluxation Complex is a neuromusculoskeletal condition that involves a relationship between two joints not in a normal relationship to one another.  These joints may have functional or other impairment due to disease, injury, or trauma causing an alteration in the structure and function of the joints, or their proximal structures or body systems that may be directly or indirectly affected by them.

Thus, subluxation complex is a condition affecting the nerves, the muscles and the bones in a joint.  It directly or indirectly affects the joints themselves and the tissues and systems proximal to them, including the nervous system.
